Group Meeting 1

First Group meeting

This is the first group meeting which we have had after deciding which song we will be using for the music video, the song we had decided to use for the video is Owl City's Unbelievable, and we already have some ideas for what we can in the video itself. These ideas mostly include just having multiple different shots and different scenes of us doing the activities which are listed within the lyrics itself.

Audience feedback

Audience feedback

Audience research:

For my first part of the audience feedback i had just asked the other students around the classroom on their opinions, we asked them what three words first came to mind when viewing the video, the main results which i had got included fun, upbeat and nostalgic. I had also asked them what kind of artists came to mind when viewing it and i was told that no other artists had really came to mind except this one. Finally i had asked them what kind of things we should improve on and i was told that the timing could be a little bit better.

Constructing the advert

These are some screenshots which were taken of the construction of the advert and much like the digipak you can see the finished product as well as the different layers and the order that the layers go in as well as the different images/ text's which we used. You can see in this adverts that we decided to follow on from the retro feel of the digipak and decided to go with some retro font as well as some coins in the background to relate back to the coins which you would put in a retro arcade machine in order to play. I also had to find images online of the different stickers such as the google play and itunes stickers and i also had to find an arena name and come up with a date that the live show was going to be held on.

Constructing the digipak

This what the Digipak looked like once we had finished it as well as what the layers looked like on the left side of the screen, the layers section tells us how many different kinds of pictures and texts that we used as well as what order that the text and pictures are in, as you can see from the overall finished product as well as the separate panels we had gone for a kind of retro arcade feel to the digipak in order to help with giving off that fun and bubbly vibe.

Unbelievable music video (rough cut)

This is the rough draft and not the actual finished version of the music video and as such it will have a few problems and error here and there. We displayed this rough draft to other students during class time in order to get some feedback, the main feedback that we got was positive however we did also get some negative, the positives included good use of editing and camera positioning as well as the fact that the other students liked the use of nature and children's toys in order to give off that fun childhood vibe. There were some negatives however such as the lip synching not matching up properly and the shadows of the camera man being visible in the background, i think that the music video is coming along nicely however there are quite a few improvements which could be made.

Editing the music video 2

Here is an example of the editing which went into the final product, as you can see this is a section from the band sequence and at the bottom in the timeline is a closer look at the type of skill that went into editing just the band sequence alone, there is much more editing which went into the other sequences however such as the swing set sequence.

This screenshot below is another example of the editing which went into the music video and is a screen grab of the entire timeline, this is all of the editing int he entire music video and all of the different shots and effects that were used, this is just what it looks like at a distance however and if you were to zoom in then you would see all of the different clips and cuts in moredetail.

Editing the music video 1

This is what the editing of our first rough version of the music video had looked like, as you can see there are pieces missing throughout the timeline and whole scenes not yet implemented as well as the video not yet being the entire length of the finished product and only being about half of the length of the finished music video. There is not much to go one yet however the timeline of the final product will look much better than this.

Filming the music video 1

These are some pictures which were taken as we were filming for the music video, both of the pictures that were taken here were taken in central park which is where we began to film first as we decided that it would be best to use the good weather to our advantage while it lasted.  The first picture is of us when we were preparing to do the first coke and mento's scene, we had to prepare the bottle and the sweet beforehand to make sure we got the result we wanted.
The second screenshot is of us in the playground area of the park where we done the scenes of us climbing around the equipment and me spinning the bowl with the buzz lightyear toy.
